About this Audio Normalizer tool

This free online audio normalizer helps you even out volume so your audio plays back at a more consistent level. It’s useful when different recordings or segments sound uneven.

How to use it: select a file, choose a mode (peak normalization is the default), then click Process. When it finishes, download the normalized audio.

For privacy, processing runs on your device. Your audio isn’t uploaded, there’s no signup, and the output is generated locally in your browser.

FAQ

What’s the difference between peak and voice mode?
Peak normalization raises or lowers the whole file so the loudest peak reaches a target level. Voice mode is experimental and aims for more consistent speech loudness.
Does normalization remove noise?
No. Normalization adjusts level; it doesn’t remove background noise. Use the noise remover for simple noise reduction.
Is normalization the same as compression?
Not exactly. Normalization changes overall level. Compression changes dynamics (loud vs quiet parts). This tool focuses on normalization.
